From the breeder
High orange woma python juveniles. 2 males available. 375ea These 2 guys are beautiful! And actually handle really well! The woma python ( Aspidites ramsayi ), also known as Ramsay’s python or the sand python, is a medium-sized, non-venomous snake endemic to the arid and semi-arid regions of Australia . Key Characteristics & Appearance Size: Adults typically average between 4.5 and 5.5 feet (1.4 to 1.7 meters) in length, though some can grow up to 7 or 8 feet. They usually weigh around 10 pounds or less. Coloration: They feature a distinctive light yellowish to burnt-orange or reddish head. Their bodies are patterned with light tan, grey, olive, or golden-brown background colors marked with darker brown or creamy-yellow bands. Unique Traits: Unlike most other pythons, womas lack heat-sensing pits on their jaw/face. They also have a narrow, pointed head and tail, and are resistant or immune to the venom of other snakes. Behavior & Diet Hunting Style: They are nocturnal hunters that spend the daytime sheltering in hollow logs or underground burrows they help expand using their wedge-shaped heads. Instead of relying strictly on traditional constriction, they often kill prey by pinning or crushing it against the walls of their burrows. Diet: Their diet consists mainly of small mammals, ground birds, lizards, and other snakes (including venomous species). They can also lure prey by wiggling their narrow, pointed tail like a worm. Conservation Status Status: Wild populations face threats from habitat destruction, agricultural clearing, and introduced predators like foxes and feral cats. They are classified as endangered or critically endangered in certain regional parts of Australia (such as the Brigalow Belt) and are legally protected.
